Buzz Aldrin and Bill Nye Just Walked the Runway at Men’s Fashion Week

For science!

Nobody’s going to remember Buzz Aldrin for his walk down the runway at the Nick Graham fashion show.

The man’s an official Great American. Landed a spaceship on the moon. Walked on it, too. Fighter pilot, holder of an aeronautics doctorate from MIT. Before #goals was a thing, Buzz Aldrin was all of them.

So why give a sh*t that he walked Nick Graham’s show?

Buzz Aldrin is 87 years old, and he looks like a — What word can you give a living American hero? A badass? A boss? We’re not worthy, Buzz, of whichever descriptor is appropriate for a hero in a shiny silver bomber jacket.

Graham’s show, entitled “Life on Mars: Fall-Winter 2035,” also featured Bill Nye, as both catwalk model and narrator.

We don’t want to make too big a deal of this, but if you’ll allow us to make too big a deal of this, we’re happy to live in a world where a nearly 90-year-old astronaut gets his rightful place of pride as an aspirational figure. Who would you rather be: Buzz Aldrin or a 19-year-old from Estonia with aggressive cheekbones?

Here’s what Buzz had to say:

More of this — science and merit — in our world, please.
