Le’Veon Bell has yet to sign his franchise tag or report to the team, Antonio Brown is having issues, and the Steelers have yet to win a game.
Yet, as ESPN’s Bill Barnwell points out, even at 0-1-1, Pittsburgh’s playoff hopes are far from dead.
An early Super Bowl favorite for some, Pittsburgh’s slow start has slashed their playoff odds by more than half and they now only have a 36.6 percent chance of making the postseason.
Long as they may be, those odds are much better than what a number of other winless teams are looking at.
According to Barnwell, the 0-2 Bills, Lions, Cardinals, Raiders, and Giants all have a less than 10 percent chance of making the playoffs.
For the 0-2 Seahawks and Texans, the odds are a bit better at 11.8 and 24.4, respectively.
Also at 0-1-1, the Browns weren’t mentioned. But, if they win tonight against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football, their odds may improve.
