Sports Illustrated has named J.J. Watts and José Altuve as 2017 Sportsperson of the Year for their work off the field, namely, their work to support and lift up Houston after the devastating hurricane that struck this year. Watt raised more than $37 million in relief and Altuve was a major player behind one of the most unlikely World Series runs in recent memory.
