We all know the scene from Titanic: a couple lies in bed together as the boat is sinking, and water is seen rushing into the room. Well, it turns out they were based on real-life first-class passengers, Isidor and Ida Straus, who both turned down lifeboats to let other people in. They were last seen holding each other on the deck of the boat.
