Man vs. Inflatable Lobster vs. A 69-Foot Waterfall

And a legend was born that day

June 19, 2017 9:00 am EDT

In one bold move, one incredibly self-aware man has managed to satirize both action-sports videos and the bikini-clad culture of extravagant pool toys.

Pro kayaker Rafa Ortiz took a six-foot lobster pool toy for a joyride over Outlet Falls, a 69-foot waterfall in Washington. As far we know, it’s the first time this has ever been attempted (certainly the only time it’s been filmed, a la Red Bull, naturally).

Although the tone of the video is comic, the ride isn’t.  It sounds like he aims to do it again.

If you’re pumping up your pool toy for a run, there’s one thing to keep in mind: Ortiz is a pro. So don’t go chasing waterfalls. Unless, y’know, they’re metaphorical.
