Thou art a grown ass man.
Thou shalt not shop at IKEA.
Even if thou covet Swedish meatballs.
Instead: take a gander at True Emporium’s “In A Box” collection.
Each kit is a room’s worth of furniture — sofa, chair, coffee table, floor lamp and entertainment center, for instance — in a box.
Everything flat-packed in a military-inspired trunk, which itself pulls double-duty as another piece of the furniture puzzle.
Convenient? Hella. Disposable? No.
Handmade and finished from reclaimed wood and steel, these kits are designer Ty Parr’s high quality, eco-conscious answer to Sweden’s dumpster-bound Karlstads and Ramviks.
Those are real names, right?
And while you may not have heard of SF’s True Emporium, you’ve seen their work if you’ve been in a Whole Foods anytime recently. They do the design and build-out of the cafés.
This line is more of a hobby. Or a mission statement.
Either way, you won’t be throwing it out anytime soon.
