Land Rover Reborn Bringing back the Range Rover Classic

In America, we love tales of folks down-on-their-luck returning to glory.

The U.K. loves ’em, too — it’s just that their redemption stories involve Range Rovers.

The second release from Land Rover’s “Reborn” division, the Range Rover Classic is a restored version of the three-door model the automaker produced in the 1970s. Outfitted with original parts and built to ‘70s factory specs, Land Rover plans to build 10 of these Classic models.

Featuring a 3.5-liter V8 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the first of the 132-HP Range Rover Classics will debut in Paris later this month, CAR Magazine reported.

“Range Rover Reborn is another showcase of our dedicated in-house engineering expertise,” said Jaguar Land Rover Classic director Tim Hannig. “It is a wonderful way to preserve the much sought after three-door original Range Rover from the 1970s, from period-correct color ways to interior trim and accessories.”

The restorations start at around $170,000 and, by the way, you have to provide the base model.
