At 66, Danny Thompson Has a Serious Need for Speed

Danny Thompson is a 66-year-old Southern California native, who’s spent $2 million of his own money bringing his father’s 47-year-old Challenger II race car back to life. (His dad, Mickey, is an off-roading legend.) Thompson’s goal? To break a speed record of 439 mph. Read Matt McCue’s feature on Longreads.
