Is This McLaren the World’s Most Affordable Supercar?

Hmm. Define "affordable."

If L.A. didn’t have so much traffic, if San Francisco were somewhat affordable and if New York weren’t so unforgiving — everyone would live there.

But paying your dues is the right of passage to enjoying life’s finer things.

Supercars are no exception. They’re difficult and crazy expensive — until now-ish.

The McLaren 2018 Spider is being coined the “most attainable” sports car ever as a result of its comparatively accessible price tag of “just” $208,000.

To be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Spider has 562 horsepower courtesy of a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, an acceleration of 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 204 mph.

So perhaps it is still more coin than any average Joe can cough up, but at nearly $150,000 less than the 650S, she’s considered a real steal.
